Christmas Classics from a Father-Daughter Duo

christmas-albumJust down the Texas highways from me live Kevin McCormick and his daughter Rachel. A mutual friend introduced us, and I learned that Kevin and Rachel has just completed a Christmas album full of classic hymns and songs.

The result is an endlessly listenable arrangement of beautiful Christmas favorites: “The First Noel” to “Silent Night” to “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming,” and more. Kevin plays guitar and his daughter sings, but they also perform duets and pure instrumentals on the tracks.

I broke my rule of no Christmas music just so I could listen to their CD and see if I could recommend it to others. And I certainly can; it’s been playing in a loop for hours each day. The songs are simply done and lovely; no pomp and circumstance that so often accompanies these tunes when done by big-time singers. Yet the music and production quality are professional.

The album is entitled In Dulci Jubilo and is available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and CDBaby. You can listen to samples of all the songs via those links.

So, add a great new album to Christmas rotation and support the work of a talented father-daughter team!
