Morning Offerings

Pope John Paul II encouraged all Catholics to pray the Morning Offering, saying that this prayer is “of fundamental importance in the life of each and every one of the faithful.”

Morning Offering to the Sacred Heart

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all our associates, and in particular for the intentions of our Holy Father.

[You might also wish to offer yourself to Mary daily.]

Consecration to the Blessed Virgin

My Queen and my Mother, I give myself entirely to you and in proof of my affection, I give you my eyes, my ears, my tongue, my heart, my whole being without reserve. Since I am your own, keep me and guard me as your property and possession. Amen.

[Remember to renew your morning offering throughout the day with short aspirations such as: “My Lord and my God”; “Jesus, have mercy on me”; “O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”;” Bless the Lord, O my soul”; “Come Holy Spirit”; “Blessed Trinity, thee I adore” or other words that are fitting to address to God.]

Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O Most Holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore Thee, I love Thee, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer Thee this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient and pure, and wholly obedient to Thy Will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in Thee, and for Thee.

Protect me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions, give health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Thy blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.

Direct, we beg you, O Lord

Direct, we beg you, O Lord, our actions by your holy inspirations, and carry them on by your gracious assistance, that every prayer and work of ours may begin always with you, and through you be happily ended. Amen.

The Golden Arrow

May the most holy, most sacred,
most adorable, most mysterious
and unutterable Name of God
be always praised, blessed,
loved, adored and glorified,
in heaven, on earth and under the earth,
by all the creatures of God,
and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ
in the most holy Sacrament of the altar.

Night Prayer

Protect Us Lord as we stay awake
Watch over us as we sleep
That awake we may keep watch with Christ
And asleep rest in His Peace
