Poem: “Circus Glitter”

Circus Glitter

Spangles and glitter and flesh,
Dazzles the eyes at the circus,
Wearing red shoes and pink pearls
Acting the clown to amuse us.

Oh to live and to love like an artist
I saw one long ago day,
When I attended the circus
In the darkness a gleaming ray.

The music was worthy of princes’,
The movements were well calibrated,
Not a fleshy performance
His strength and his skill celebrated

I found myself choked with emotion
Sitting there high in the heat,
Oh what a performance it was!
As the acrobat moved with the beat.

But I see that all are performers
Living life’s’ skits and routines,
Since the audience is a Divine One
Have grace in life’s everyday scenes.
