Poem: “Tomorrow”

Tomorrow

The morning comes swift and bright
And sleep is fleeting as a bird in flight

So take your rest while you can
While the silver moon sails silent over land

Worry not over what you should have done
Over what lies unfinished or unbegun

The day once passed shall not return
And worry will not one minute earn

Regret will not one hour buy
Of the sun’s swift passage through the sky

Wishing will not do deeds undone
Nor longing sing songs unsung

So when the day has breathed its last
Set not your gaze upon the past

Let it go, for it is gone
Look instead to the dawn
