Poem: “Who is Safe on Loose Planks?”

Who is Safe on Loose Planks?

If I am to have hope,
it must be in the Lord
For in who else can I turn
in an hour of darkness?
Who else can provide lasting
assurance, but the Lord?

There are many who can arise
to the occasion.
But which of these will survive
the test of time?
Name a man, he shall fail.

Trust in the Lord is the only
choice, for those who have knowledge,
For they know the goodness and
the permanency of God.
Through trial He teaches,
through trial He strengthens.

If you seek quickness in your dilemma,
seek not God.
For quickness is not a faithful ally,
Today good, tomorrow bad.
Who is safe on loose planks?

Strength is gained through aging and curing.
Lofty structures need deep foundations.
So too with man and Spirit.
The vision is instantaneous,
The edifice takes time.

So rush not in to the waiting arms
of a stranger.
Wait patiently for your Love.
As the morning sun is sure to rise,
So too will the Lord rescue you,
with the brightness of a new day.

Have heart, have hope, He loves you.
He hears you, and He knows your needs.
Time is your ally, and He will surely come.
And He will not be delayed.

Trust Him, love Him, have hope in Him.
Only Him.
